The Ministry / Distinctives

SDG Baseball Culture

We are not trying to be different for the sake of being different. We are striving to be faithful to what we believe God's Word teaches.

1 of 7

We Use Athletics as an Excuse for the Gospel

Baseball gives us opportunities to build relationships and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

2 of 7

We Build Men Before Athletes

Every baseball career ends. We are preparing young men for responsibilities that last far beyond the game.

We Strengthen Families

Parents are God's primary disciplers. Our program is designed to support the home, not compete with it.

4 of 7

We Honor the Local Church

We protect Sundays and Wednesday evenings and expect families to be faithful members of a biblically sound local church.

Our Coaches Are Disciplers

Our coaches are carefully selected and trained to teach the game well while intentionally investing in young men.

6 of 7

We Pursue Excellence for God's Glory

We prepare carefully, communicate clearly, coach with purpose, and compete with excellence.

We Think Generationally

We are investing in young men who will one day lead homes, serve churches, coach others, and influence the next generation.

Discipleship in Practice

What discipleship looks like for your son

  • Biblical teaching, prayer, and Scripture memorization.
  • Coaching and correction shaped by God’s Word.
  • Biblical responses to success, failure, adversity, and playing time.
  • Learning and sharing the gospel.
  • Supporting parents in discipling their children.
  • Encouraging faithful participation in the local church.

Supporting the home

Parents are God's primary disciplers. Our program is designed to support the home, not compete with it.

Honoring the local church

SDG Baseball will never schedule team activities on Sundays or Wednesday evenings. We want our families to worship, serve, and participate faithfully in the life of their local churches.
